New Neighborhood in Hevron in Response to Teens' Murder

Dozens of youths and other residents of Kiryat Arba'-Hevron joined Chairman Malachi Levinger of the local council on Hill 22 of the neighborhood north of Ramat Mamre and built the first two houses of a neighborhood to be called Talmei Haim (Furrows of Life). They affixed mezuzot on the doorposts, read Psalms for the souls of murdered yeshiva students Naftali Frenkel, Gil-Ad Sha'er and Eyal Yifrah, and, with the dawn, started to populate the houses with three families.

Levinger said, Friday morning, that the new neighborhood expands Kiryat Arba' toward the area where the teens were abducted. One of the new residents said, "The natural response of our enemies, as we witnessed this week in Jerusalem and other parts of the country, is rioting, lynchings and endless cruelty, while our answer is to continue to go out to areas, build and plant life."
