Memorial Observance for Yoni Netanyahu Friday

Friday marks the 38th anniversary of the falling of Lieutenant Colonel Yoni Netanyahu, brother of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, in Israel's rescue of Israelis and other Jews from an Air France flight that was hijacked to Entebbe, Uganda. The Sayeret Matkal (Headquarters Commando) rescue, originally called Operation Thunderbolt, was changed to Operation Yonatan in his memory.

Taking part in the annual memorial observance at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem will be the prime minister, his wife Sara and his brother Ido, their families and friends, as well as veterans of Sayeret Hamatkal.
