The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday morning trading with modest losses in mixed trading. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,252.21, down .05 percent, while the same price meant a decline of .06 percent for the TA 100, including a drop of .12 percent to 1,386.57 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,064.59, up .08 percent.
Most of the individual economic sectors gained; the oil and natural-gas index rising .55 percent to 1,358.88. The insurance issues stood at 1,517.33, up .33 percent, as the financial institutions advanced .18 percent to 1,247.90, including a gain of two tenths of a percent to 1,288.47 by the bank stocks. Most of the technology index stood at 337.89, up .29 percent, while the biomed issues edged up .06 percent to 911.03. The communications stocks stood at 802.70, up .04 percent, while the real-estate index slipped .09 percent to 394.08.
