'Zoabi Law' to Knesset House Committee

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation decided, Sunday, to pass a bill that has come be known as the Zoabi Law to the Knesset House Committee.

The proposal permits the ouster of a Knesset member who identifies with terrorist organizations or incites racism by a majority of two thirds of the House Committee, subject to the approval of the Supreme Court. The measure was formulated following a statement by Member of Knesset Hanin Zoabi (National Democratic Assembly - at-Tajamuʿ al-Waṭanī ad-Dīmūqraṭī in Arabic - Hebrew acronym Balad) that the kidnappers of three teenage yeshiva students on June 12th in Judea were not terrorists.
