The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange began the trading week, Sunday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,251.06, up .13 percent from Thursday, with the same percentage increase meaning a posting of 1,386.12 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues as the TA 100 rose .16 percent to 1,250.56. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,070.33, down .06 percent.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which climbed 1.14 percent to 336.75 while the biomed issues closed at 906.96, up three quarters of a percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks advanced .69 percent to 1,359.89 and the insurance index edged up .08 percent to 1,513.95 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,246.63, down .06 percent, including a drop of two-tenths of a percent to 1,285.58 by the bank issues. The real-estate stocks stood at 393.46, down .15 percent, and the communications index declined three quarters of a percent to 796.72.
