Security Cabinet Reconsiders Scale-Back Plan

The Security Cabinet and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu have decided Wednesday night to continue the wide-scale search-and-rescue effort for the kidnapped boys, as well as their crackdown on Hamas, despite a highly criticized decision to scale back the operation on Tuesday.

The Cabinet also decided to enact measures to prevent monies being transferred from the Palestinian Authority to terrorist prisoners. 

Hours earlier, the mothers of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Sha'ar, and Eyal Yifrah spoke in the Knesset, begging the Israeli government to reverse the decision in a poignant plea for their sons' lives. 

It is unclear whether the hearing directly affected the Cabinet decision, which was also met with waves of public and political dissent.
