MK Ze'ev Calls to Pardon Lupolianski

MK Nissim Ze’ev (Shas) on Tuesday called for a pardon for former Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, who was sentenced to six years in jail for accepting bribes in the Holyland scandal.

"The judge constantly gave us the illusion that if [Lupolianski] would bring the medical certificates he would not send him to jail,” Ze’ev told Arutz Sheva, pointing out to the former Jerusalem mayor’s health issues. “He constantly hinted that Uri’s case was different, that he did pocket the money and everything went to Yad Sarah. His ruling concerning Uri undermines public confidence in the judicial system.”
