J'm Mulls Lower Municipal Tax for Neighborhood Business

The Jerusalem City Council's Finance Committee is considering an initiative by Likud Councilman Moshe Lion to lower the property tax paid by owners of businesses in neighborhoods away from the downtown area. Lion met on Monday with business owners in the southern neighborhood of Gilo who complained about having to pay the same rates as businesses downtown.

Mayor Nir Barkat is advancing a number of tax-saving measures to promote economic growth and make the city attractive for businesses and private citizens.
