Security forces searched 120 homes in the Hevron region, Monday evening, as efforts continued to find the three yeshiva students who were abducted on June 12 from the Alon Shevut Junction in Judea. A total of 1,800 houses have been searched since the start of the campaign.
While a lot of attention has been made on the hundreds of Palestinian Authority (PA) residents arrested during the operation, a senior officer in the Israel Defense Forces said, Tuesday morning, that the searches are the principle aspect of the campaign. He said troops were being replaced to help the forces to reorganize. He said while it was important to allow the PA residents to maintain their lifestyle, this week's start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan would not mean the discontinuation of the search effort.
