Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Monday morning trading with modest losses. About an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,265.12, down .19 percent from Sunday's close, while the TA 100 declined .21 percent to 1,264.95, including a drop of .23 percent to 1,402.98 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,080.88, up .11.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which rose three tenths of a percent to 807.97, followed by the biomed issues, which stood at 926.45, up .14 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks lost an average of .16 percent to 338.81. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,314.90, down .01 percent, and the real-estate issues fell .23 percent to 401.57. The financial issues stood at 1,268.44, down .36 percent, the same percentage loss meaning a posting of 1,528.82 for the insurance stocks, while the bank index slumped .34 percent to 1,314.90.
