With only Israeli investors involved in a low-value day, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,267.57, up a tenth of a percent from Thursday's close, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,267.67 by the TA 100, including a gain of .11 percent to 1,406.15 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,079.64, up .06 percent.
With the Bezeq communications company climbing 1.6 percent to 636.00, the communications index led the gainers, closing at 805.55, up a percent, followed by the oil and natural gas issues, which stood at 1,366.00, up .43 percent. The insurance stocks rose .24 percent to 1,534.42 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,273.08, up .09 percent, including a drop of .06 percent to 1,319.35 by the bank index. The biomed issues advanced .18 percent to 925.15 while the rest of the technology issues stood at 339.34, down .69 percent, and the real-estate stocks slipped .03 percent to 402.48.
