Classmate of Kidnap Victims Charged in Firebombing

Charges are scheduled to be filed in the Jerusalem District Juvenile Court, Friday, against a 16-year-old resident of the Judean city of Beitar Ilit and two other minors in connection with an attack on Arabs next to Beitar following last Thursday's kidnapping of three yeshiva students at the Alon Shevut Junction in Judea. Following their arrests on Monday evening, the 16-year-old confessed to throwing a firebomb at the Arabs while the other two admitted to throwing rocks.

During a hearing in which the youths were released to house arrest, attorney Itamar Ben-Gvir of the Honenu legal-aid organization noted that the boy who threw the Molotov cocktail studied for a period of time with two of the abducted yeshiva students. Ben-Gvir said he expected more sensitivity from the police and prosecutors in dealing with the suspects.
