The B’Tselem Israel Center for Information on Human Rights in Judea and Samaria related to the abduction of three yeshiva (Torah academy) high school students in Gush Etzion on Thursday, by posting on its Facebook page. “B’Tselem is a partner in the deep anxiety and worry over the wellbeing of the three yeshiva students, two of whom are minors, and I the great hope that they will be returned, safe and sound, to their homes. B’Tselem would like to reiterate that any directed attack on civilians is forbidden. Those holding the boys captive must return them to their families.”
“It is up to the State’s authorities to take all measures necessary in order to ensure that human rights are being upheld. Collective punishment must be avoided. Defense forces must also take measures to prevent violence against ‘Palestinians,” the organization added.
