31 Months in Jail for Lifeguard Turned Arson

A Be’er Sheva district court sentenced 31 months in prison to a lifeguard who was fired from his job and in response lit a lifeguard hut on fire in the Dead Sea in 2013.

The lifeguard had doused a pile of plastic beach chairs near the hut with two liters of gasoline and set them on fire before fleeing the scene. Police later located and arrested the suspect, who was later convicted of committing the allegations.
