Knesset Approves Increased Aid to Holocaust Survivors

The Knesset plenum approved on Monday the second and third readings of a bill, initiated by Finance Minister Yair Lapid, that will increase aid to Holocaust survivors.

The bill seeks to ensure equal status for survivors who immigrated to Israel before October 1953 and those who came afterwards, so that the 18,000 Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel after October 1953 will receive a monthly stipend from the state treasury, ranging from 2,200 to 8,000 shekels.
