All the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened the trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate gains. The TA Composite closed at 1,271.26, up .99 percent from Thursday's close, while the TA 100 climbed 1.01 percent to 1,272.55, including a gain of one percent to 1,414.38 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,709.08, up six tenths of a percent.
Leading the sectors was the biomed index, which rose 1.88 percent to 947.34 while the rest of the technology issues stood at 342.81, up 1.07 percent, just ahead of the communications stocks, which advanced 1.06 percent to 803.62. The financial institutions finished the day at 1,284.22, up .67 percent; the bank index rising three tenths of a percent to 1,339.08 while the insurance issues stood at 1,520.31, up .54 percent. The same percentage increase meant a posting of 393.99 for the real-estate stocks, while the oil and natural-gas index rose .59 percent to 1,378.52.
