Shas Party College Faces Closure

Employees struck, Sunday, the Mekor Hama'ayanot (Source of the Springs) College in the eastern Tel Aviv suburb of Bnei Brak, created in 1989 by the Sephardic-hareidi Shas party's council of Torah sages, over wages that have not paid since last year and the institution risks not being able to open its doors for the coming school year. The employees said they have lost faith in Education Ministry promises of budget transfers, which only cover the current academic year.

Party leaders also blamed the ministry for not transferring the funds, accusing it directly of shutting down the school.
