Rimonim Shooting to Cause Ouster of Prison Officials

An external committee of inquiry into a February 23rd shooting at the Rimonim Prison will recommend personal conclusions against senior officials at the prison and those in the chain of command in the Israel Prisons Service's central district, according to a Friday report by Yisrael Hayom. Prisoner Samuel Sheinbein used a gun smuggled into the prison to shoot six members of the prison staff and a prisoner before he was killed in a shootout with authorities.

The finding of the committee is scheduled to be submitted to Public Safety Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch next week.
