Liberman Tells German Leader Concerns over Elections

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman told President Stephan Weil of the Bundesrat - one of Germany's two legislative bodies - that "The significant strengthening of parties with a neo-Nazi and racist character" in last week's European Parliament elections was "very disturbing", adding that European countries must take a good look at the trends that led to those results and how to deal with them.

Liberman stressed that he was calling on right-wing parties in Europe not to create joint factions with Hungary's Jobbik party or Greece's Golden Dawn party "and other parties of this type which were elected to the European Parliament and which are not legitimate. He said such a faction would not be valid from Israel's point of view.
