Police Chief Superintendent Shlomi Yosef, the Commander of the Alon Border Guard Brigade whose soldiers stopped a would-be suicide bomber at the Samarian “Tapuach Junction,” told IDF Radio about the event.
“The soldiers noticed an Arab-Israeli wearing a sweatshirt and heading towards them on foot. He aroused their suspicions and they yelled to him in Arabic to remove his sweatshirt. As soon as he did as they instructed, they noticed he was wearing a belt across his belly. They began to shout that he was a suicide bomber and acted according to protocol,” Yosef recounted.
