Rabbis Ascend Temple Mount, Call for Sovereignty There

About 30 rabbis from various streams in the religious-Zionist movement went up to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City on Tuesday in preparation for Tuesday evening's opening of the 47th anniversary of its liberation during the Six Day War of 1967. The group that organized the activity said it "expressed the eternal and renewed bond of the Jewish people to the holy place of the Temple Mount, and the public claim to start Jewish sovereignty, Jewish law in practice."

Calling on more Jews to go up to the Temple Mount, the rabbis stressed that to do so must be done according to Jewish law, which restricts where one may go once one is there.
