Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Monday-morning trading with modest gains. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,264.20, up .12 percent, while the TA 100 rose .11 percent to 1,266.48, including a gain of .09 percent to 1,403.05 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,058.94, up three tenths of a percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which advanced .81 percent to 813.12, followed by the Ma'ala organization's list of socially-responsible sustainable-growth companies, which stood at 1,159.09, up half a percent. The oil and natural-gas issues gained .23 percent to 1,384.38, followed by the real-estate stocks, which stood at 391.45, up .17 percent. Most of the technology index rose .15 percent to 342.57, while the biomed issues stood at 937.35, up .12 percent. The insurance stocks edged up .01 percent to 1,517.10 as the financial institutions remained unchanged at 1,276.50, including a drop of .01 percent to 1,324.36 by the bank index.
