Complaints Against Electric Company Down 12% in 2013

The Commissioner for complaints against the Israel Electric Company released figures, Sunday, indicating that the number of complaints against the utility dropped about 12 percent in 2013 to just under 16,200. The number of justified complaints dropped from 30 percent to 28 percent.

Most of the claims (41 percent) were for compensation from damage, followed by bills and collections (24 percent). Complaints related to work on the power grid and connectability accounted for 17 percent of the claims, followed by complaints about the reliability of service (nine percent), the environment (five percent) and other aspects of the quality of service, such as availability (four percent).
