Minister Vote on Mercy Killing Delayed a Week

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation decided, Sunday, to wait until next week to vote on a bill by Member of Knesset Ofer Shelah (Yesh Atid) to allow euthanasia for people under Israeli law.

Housing Minister Uri Ariel asked the committee to wait for the conclusions of a Health Ministry committee on the matter. He further charged that the ministry's committee was not properly composed because it did not include members of the clergy. Health Minister Yael German promised to fix that.
