Residents of the Hevron Hills are in Judea, south of Jerusalem, took to the Adorayim-Neguhot route on Friday in a convoy to protest an unbearable increase in rock and firebomb attacks on Israeli vehicles. The road provides access from Neguhot to the Hevron Hills, Jerusalem and, for many, a short cut to the Yitzhak Rabin Highway (Route 6).
A Neguhot resident explained, "Every trip can end in tragedy and we expect the army to give a security response to this matter and allow a normal routine." She added, "This convoy tells us, first of all, that we're not alone, that this is not just a problem of the Neguhot residents." Meir Dana-Picard of the Hevron Hills Residents' Committee said, "We came today because it's unthinkable that citizens of the state of Israel cannot arrive home safely. The repeated throwing of rocks must stop."
