Member of Knesset Reuven Rivlin (Likud Beytenu) spoke, Thursday evening, at observances to mark the 73rd anniversary of the death of David Raziel, a commander in the Etzel (Irgun) pre-state militia. The former Knesset speaker told those in attendance at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, "David Raziel was one of those dreamers, without whom the people of Israel would not have returned to it country, and the state of Israel would not have been established. Raziel is a standard of vision, toil and endless sacrifice. We must remember the dreamingfighters and the dream, to remember and never let go."
Rivlin added that "those whose dreams are of limited liability, the time will teach him that nothing is left of the dream. David Raziel eulogized Jabotinsky with the words 'During the days of depressed spirits and shrunken beliefs, there was a sunrise of small lights in the dark,' and David did not know that he was writing his own eulogy."
