Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday trading with modest gains. Just before noon, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,251.08, up .29 percent, while the TA 100 rose .31 percent to 1,253.55, including an advance of .19 percent to 1,388.97 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,054.78, down .02 percent.
Leading the sectors was the biomed index, which climbed 1.21 percent to 933.82, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 335.48, up .24 percent. The insurance stocks gained .61 percent to 1,517.71 as the financial institutions stood at 1,283.81, up .08 percent, including a slip of .02 percent to 1,323.17 by the bank index. The real-estate issues stood at 394.49, up .16 percent, while the oil and natural-gas stocks rose .13 percent to 1,386.94 and the communications index stood at 811.28, up .11 percent.
