Porush: We're Not Interested in Presidential Election

MK Meir Porush of the hareidi United Torah Judaism party said on Monday that his party was uninterested in the presidential elections, saying that the push should be for a country with Torah-based laws.

"There is no action around the election of the president at United Torah Judaism nor we have any interest in doing so. To explain this I would describe this lack of interest in a mistrust of this country,” he said.

“An observant Jew cannot agree to a reality and an organizational conduct that is not according to the Torah," said Porush, adding that "a government whose values conflict the Torah does not deserve legitimacy.”
