Knesset Approves Bill to Keep Minors Out of Tanning Beds

The Knesset’s Health Committee unanimously approved a bill proposed by the Health Ministry, according to which customers below the age of 18 will be forbidden to use tanning beds and frequent tanning salons.

It was also decided that the salons would have to place a warning sign, hand out an explanatory flyer to potential clients, use protective eyewear and uphold Israeli health standards. The United Nations World Health Organization recently found that the probability of contracting skin cancer incrementally rises as a result of frequenting tanning salons and lying in tanning beds.
