Hadassah Recovery Plan Submitted to Court

The trustees of the Hadassah hospitals in Jerusalem submitted a financial recovery program to the Jerusalem District Court, Sunday evening. Doctors, other employees and creditors will vote separately on the plan on Tuesday.

The program calls for the state to give the hospitals 1.3 billion shekels ($376 million) over a period of seven years and the Hadassah women's organization will contribute 900 million shekels ($260 million), 310 million ($90 million) this year. Doctors who don't go on voluntary retirement will loan the hospitals 4.5 percent of their salaries for three years, to be paid back over ten years.
