Report: Lebanon to File Complaints Against Israel

Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil asked his country's delegation at the United Nations, Saturday, to file three complaints against Israel at the Security Council, regarding violations of the country’s sovereignty and Security Council Resolution 1701, according to a weekend report by Beirut's Daily Star.

A statement from his office claimed Israel removed cement barriers and uprooted two trees about 10 meters inside Lebanese territory on May 11th, when the Lebanese Army said several Israeli gunboats violated Lebanon's territorial waters near Ras Naqoura (Rosh Hanikra in Hebrew) and moved existing floating barriers some 20 meters inside Lebanese waters. Bassil also claimed Israel crossed the border on May 1, near Houla village in south Lebanon, and that an Israeli army unit attempted to kidnap three Lebanese citizens in Shebaa, which Israel calls Har Dov, on the northern side of Mount Hermon, which was in Syrian hands when Israel took control.
