Jimmy Carter: Egypt’s Journey to Democracy Faltering

Former US President Jimmy Carter said on Saturday that Egypt’s journey to becoming a democratic government has faltered after years of political revolutions.

Carter estimated that the dismissal of Muhammad Morsi from the presidential throne deepened the lack of stability within the country. The center that Carter heads has announced that it will not send observers to the Egyptian elections, which will be held on the 26th and 27th of May.
