Britain to Bequeath Special Immunity to Livni

The British government decided to give special diplomatic immunity to Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who is slated to visit London in the next few days. The decision is based on the knowledge that pro-Palestinian organizations intend on claiming that Livni has committed war crimes.

The claims are related to Livni’s role as Foreign Minister during Operation Cast Lead in 2008. Giving Livni diplomatic immunity will prevent the minister from being arrested while visiting the UK.
