Judge David Rosen of the Tel Aviv District Court began reading the sentence of former prime minister and Jerusalem mayor Ehud Olmert in the Holyland corruption case, Tuesday morning. In an introduction, he said, "The offense of bribery has the potential to pollute public service. Bribery offenses make government collapse."
Rosen continued, "Those who take bribes create a sense of disgust that make the public fed up with state institutions. The one who takes a bribe is a traitor who betrays the trust he is given, without which it is impossible to give proper public service."
