Imad Fares Questioned in Harpaz Affair

Reserves Brigadier-General Imad Fares, who was dismissed from active duty in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) by then-chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi, has been questioned in recent days by the Israel Police's Lahav 433 National Crimes Unit about the Harpaz Affair, according to a Tuesday report by IDF Radio. The Harpaz Affair relates to the replacement of Ashkenazi at the end of his term and other intrigues related to tension between Ashkenazi and then Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Fares had a legal battle against Ashkenazi related to his dismissal and the recent questioning related to this too. Fares's dismissal related to his wife's use of a military vehicle and his reporting of an accident involving the vehicle.
