It was disclosed, Sunday, that the Israel Security Agency uncovered a terror cell, directed by terrorists serving life sentences, that intended to abduct Israeli soldiers in the Huwara, Ariel and Yitzhar Junction areas of Samaria (Shomron) in April as bargaining chips for the release of the jailed terrorists.
The cell was composed of relatives of one of the two lifers - at least one of them a Fatah member - and prisoners who were about to be released stood to be recruited. A third prisoner was allegedly involved in the scheme, which started in 2012. A fourth prisoner arranged financing from a Hamas member in Gaza. Communications with the outside was via cell phones that were smuggled into the prison. Charges have been filed against all the suspects.
