Public Safety Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch and Police Chief Yohanan Danino were among high-ranking police representatives who began, Sunday, a four-day march from the northern end to the southern end of the Israel Trail. The Hebrew words "Bishvil Yisrael" mean "on the Israel Trail" and "on behalf of Israel". The initiative follows the 2013 publication of a book by that name about dozens of sites and buildings around the country associated with the history of the Israel Police.
Different groups of police and the population are scheduled to take part in the four segments of the march. Joining members of the general-staff headquarters and the Northern District in the hike from Kibbutz Dan to Nahal Senir were participants in the MILA police project to reform at-risk youth.
