Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the Independence Day-shortened trading week, Thursday, with modest gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,235.79, up .26 percent while the TA 100 rose three tenths of a percent to 1,238.10, including a gain of .31 percent to 1,372.18 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 1,046.01, down two tenths of a percent.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which advanced .64 percent to 1,360.26, while the bank issues stood at 1,300.81, up .47 percent, as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,262.49, including a slip of .06 percent to 1,483.07 by the insurance stocks. The real-estate index gained .28 percent to 387.39 while the biomed issues edged up .07 percent to 981.87. The rest of the technology stocks were unchanged at 320.77, as was the communications index at 820.09.
