Day Care Subsidy for Yeshiva Students’ Children to Be Cut

The haredi newspaper Yated Neeman reported that the new guidelines of the Economics Ministry will cut the full day care subsidy for those families where both parents are not working or where a parent has pushed off army service to study and has not gone out to work.

The subsidy cut will largely affect the haredi population, as many fathers abstain from army service in favor of learning in a yeshiva (Torah academy).
