Former Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin addressed the official state observance for fallen members of the military, Monday in the central Galilee Druze village of Beit Jann. He said, "We have bound our fates together. Over the course of time, our covenant has been tested. We have always proven the uprightness and truth of that covenant."
Rivlin continued, "The graves of yours sons are a monument to the cruel blood pact that has been forced upon us against our will. But we don't have just a blood pact but a covenant for life."
