Shavei Shomron Protests Yitzhar Arrests

Dozens of students and their parents from the Samarian (Shomron) Jewish community of Shavei Shomron demonstrated, Thursday, in protest of Wednesday's arrest of two couples from the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar who teach in Shavei Shomron's Talmud Torah school. The couples were arrested on suspicion of involvement in nationalist vandalism in the northern Israeli-Arab city of Umm Al-Fahm.

Shavei Shomron Rabbi Yehoshu'a Schmidt expressed regret the failure of police to catch those who carry out the so-called "price tag" vandalism. The protesters called for a stop to "the ugly wave that allows the arrest of innocent pioneer residents of Judea and Samaria while left-wing activists and anarchists, together with Palestinians, throw rocks at soldiers and denegrate them every week and nobody makes a peep."
