The official value of the shekel rose an average of .271 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was set at NIS 3.454, down .346 percent, while the Euro declined .198 percent to 4.793 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.8391 shekels, up .079 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slipped .068 percent to NIS 3.3788. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.2046, down .302 percent, while its Canadian counterpart fell half a percent to 3.1463 shekels and the South African rand was fixed at .3288 shekels, down .122 percent. The Swedish krona rose .605 percent to NIS .5324.
