Barak: Ashkenazi Threatened Me

Former defense minister Ehud Barak told police that former chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi threatened him after Barak informed Ashkenazi of his intent to appoint a successor half a year before the end of his term, according to a Monday-evening report by Channel 2 Television. Barak said Ashkenazi responded by saying "You're going to war," and angrily left the room.

Police are investigating a series of intrigues surrounding the selection of Ashkenazi's successor and tensions between Ashkenazi and Barak's offices.
