Who Drained Upper Galilee Reservoir?

The Nature and National Parks Authority is investigating who opened the floodgates of the 20-dunam/five-acre reservoir next to the Nahal Senir (Hahtzabani) Nature Reserve, east of the Upper Galilee city of Kiryat Shmonah, over the Passover holiday, emptying it of 100,000 cubic meters of water.

Interviewed by Arutz Sheva, nature-reserve manager Hagai Shelomo said the prime suspects were kayaking operators who sought to gain additional operating hours. He said they have keys and are allowed to play with the water levels during winters of good rainfall with permission from the authority but none was sought, and the situation was more serious, given the less-than-average rainfall this year.
