Exports to Asia Projected to Exceed those to the US

With the Economics Ministry aiding companies which want to expand trade in Asia - specifically China and India - the region is expected to surpass the United States as an export market in 2014, according to a projection published Sunday by the ministry's foreign trade department. Exports to the two markets each accounted for about a quarter of Israel's exports in 2013. Europe was Israel's leading market.

Growth in exports to Asia is projected at 4.7 percent, compared to a range of 1.3 to 1.5 percent for Europe and the US, continuing a recent trend.
