President Hassan Rouhani of Iran said, Friday, "Our neighbors should know that Iran's Army and Armed Forces are supporters of stability in the entire region...," according to the Fars news agency. Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran to mark National Army Day, he said Iran has no hostile intentions toward anyone in the world, including the United States, which has long been considered an enemy. He was cited by the Associated Press as saying, "We are not after war, we are after logic, we are after talks."
Fars cited Rouhani as pointing to "the unity among the Iranian Armed Forces", adding that they have "a unique command which has resulted in a strong deterrent power against the 'greedy eyes of others' and saying, "There is no doubt that Iran with such brave sons will never allow any aggression against its soil." The Iranian Army displayed its latest home-made military tools, weapons and equipment in large military parades.
