No Breakthrough in Talks

Israeli and Palestinian Authority (PA) negotiators meeting United States envoy Martin Indyk to try to find a way to extend peace talks have failed to reach agreement, according to a PA source quoted on Friday morning by Agence France Presse. The meeting began in the late afternoon on Thursday in a Jerusalem hotel but ended after five hours of "very difficult discussions", the source said, adding, "The gap (between the parties) is still wide."

Indyk is now expected to meet negotiators for the two sides separately on Friday.
