Shekel, Dollars Down - Pound Outpaces Yen, Euro

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .222 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.474, up .115 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .263 percent to 4.8104 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.8476 shekels, up .668 percent, while 100 Japanese yen gained .327 percent to NIS 3.4052. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.2522, up .173 percent, while its Canadian counterpart slipped .066 percent to 3.1567 shekels and the South African rand was set at .33 shekels, up .334 percent.
