Tons of Food for IDF Seders and the Rest of Passover


The Israel Defense Forces has procured tons of special food for Seder ritual meal that opens the Passover Feast of Unleavened Bread on Monday evening and seven days that follow. To meet the requirements of the holiday, 75 tons of matza (unleavened) bread have been procured, along with 13,000 bottles of grape juice, 9,000 bottles of carbonated drinks, 6.5 tons of Nile perch and 7.5 tons of different kinds of meat, with a similar tonnage of deserts.

Military cooks will have at their disposal 7.2 tons of matza flour, 2.3 tons of potato flour, 3.2 tons of a preparation for making Passover dumplings, 2.5 tons of artichokes and 2.8 tons of mushrooms.
