Report: Import Reform to Lower Food Prices

Reform in imports will be brought before the cabinet soon as part of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's attempts to lower the cost of food, according to a Monday report by the Yisrael Hayom daily.

Under the reform, among the recommendations of the Locker Committee on imports, Israel will adopt European Union procedures, which will open the Israeli market to massive import of food products in an effort to increase competition.
